SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA - June 22, 2023 - Project Invent, a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering middle and high school students to invent for social good, hosted an unforgettable FutureFest 2023, which took place on June 9th at The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, California. FutureFest 2023 showcased the remarkable journey of student inventors and celebrated the impact they are making in the field of innovative education and social change.

The event brought together innovators, engineers, tech leaders, educators, administrators, and donors who share a common interest in the future of education. FutureFest 2023 provided a platform for student teams from across the country to present their solutions and inventions aimed at addressing real-world problems. These bold young inventors captivated the audience with their passion, creativity, and incredible impactful solutions. From cleaner water, to anxiety support, to enabling individuals with limited mobility, and so much more!

FutureFest 2023 showcased the transformative power of design thinking and innovation in shaping the educational landscape," said Jax Chaudhry, Executive Director of Project Invent. "By empowering students to become problem solvers and change agents, we are preparing them to thrive in a rapidly evolving world."

The Tech Museum of Innovation, renowned for fostering creativity and exploration, served as the perfect host venue for FutureFest 2023. Attendees were able to experience the awe-inspiring inventions of the next generation of innovators and changemakers, who showcased their products and solutions to address pressing social issues.

Throughout the evening, Project Invent recognized outstanding individuals within its community through four annual awards:

  • Fellow of the Year: Taiwo Togun, Computer Science Teacher at Pierrepont School

  • Volunteer of the Year: Killian Evers, Senior Director UX at Google

  • Community Partner of the Year: Shelly Loose, President of Ms. Wheelchair America, Inc.

  • Emerging Fellow of the Year: Flor Rekani, Dual Language Educator at Bostonia Global

These awards celebrated the dedication and commitment of those who have contributed to Project Invent's mission and success.

Project Invent has been instrumental in empowering over 800 students nationwide, including those from schools serving low-income communities.

The impact of Project Invent on students is profound:

  • 72% feel that they have what it takes to succeed in a STEM-related job.

Teachers involved in Project Invent also report significant impact:
